A Mixed Bag In Sydney

A Mixed Bag In Sydney
9th February 2005

It's been a long week.

We've been working our asses off, drinking our livers to death. The occasional trip shopping is happening - but this has been less of a vacation than I thought it'd be.

We began editing our first set of films a few days ago. Then Scary and I got a look at 'em a couple of days back.

There was the usual trepidation - have we addressed all the concerns, what bases haven't we covered yet, is the communication clear...above all, are these good scripts?

I was fairly happy with the films when I first saw them. I mean, when you begin with a poor, boring-looking script and turn it into what could be a charming film, you've done good.

I continued to like the work as it was shown to the lead client, Soapy. Then, while we were making our changes for each individual country, I began to figure what's wrong.

And suddenly, I don't like the films at all. Simply put, they're not what I'd do if I were in charge. Scary just told me a certain point of view was stupid. Okay then! I hate the end product right now. I hate the three pack sections. I disagree with the way our director, Baby Soft, and Scary plan to treat the music.

At this point, where it comes to work, I'm not a happy camper. Even though most of our clients are loving it.

Well, let's move on to the really important things now.

Like the fact that Kiwi, our producer, gifted us Gold passes for the second final of the VB Series at the SCG. That's this Sunday.

Like the fact that I bought Dad a mini-series he's wantd for years. And I bought myself one too. I also bought Mom her birthday gift, but need some more for Nani and Sis.

Like the fact that Slappy and I have only got a few stolen moments together. Or that Client Lady knows that we're dating - and even asked Scary about it. Naturally, Scary said yes. And she's treating us like a couple. Even though we're being really professional about it.

Like the fact that we don't know how we're gonna deal with it at work once we get back to office.

Like the fact that I've just about gottenn the hang of shaving with a razor.

And like the fact that my friends don't love me anymore. No mails, no return SMS, no blog comments, nothing. Except for Minty.

It's been a varied time.

And I'm enjoying (almost) every moment of it.
